OFFICIAL INAUGURATION OF THE SECOND EXECUTIVE OF THE YOUNG SOCIAL WORKERS NETWORK SOUTHERN AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY (YSWN SADC) – KINGDOM OF LESOTHO CHAPTER
The Young Social Workers Network Southern African Development Community (YSWN SADC) -Kingdom of Lesotho Chapter will convene its second executive installation (official inauguration for 2025/2026) on 6th September 2025 at Cynthia Guest Lodge, Maseru, Kingdom of Lesotho.
The Young Social Workers Network Kingdom of Lesotho chapter (YSWN LSO) is a duly network-affiliated structure of the YSWN SADC, comprising a collective of professional, qualified, and dedicated Social Workers and social service professionals in the Kingdom of Lesotho. Its members share a common commitment to advancing the Social Work profession, strengthening its visibility, and ensuring it ascends to higher levels of prestige and excellence, to drive positive transformation across communities.
Operating under the ethos of ‘Change, Growth, and Impact,’ YSWN LSO serves as a catalyst for transformation, collaboration, and innovation. This network is inclusive and extends its membership to diverse categories of social services professionals, including qualified Social Workers in public and private practice, Auxiliary Social Workers, Child and Youth Care Workers, and Student Social Workers.

The inauguration will bring together leadership from YSWN SADC, including the YSWN Free State and Gauteng Chapters, high-level representatives from the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho, academia, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), community representatives, as well as Social Work experts and students.
Distinguished speakers on the day will include Social Worker Moeketsi Aubrey; YSWN SA/ SADC Leadership (UFS Alumni), Social Worker Clementine Klein; Social Worker Sylvester Mosotho; YSWN Free state President (UFS Alumni)Y, SWN FS Vice-President (UFS Alumni), and Social Worker Papi Ntsoetsa; YSWN FS Head: Academics and mentorship.
The following Social Workers shall be officially inaugurated to serve two-year tenure as the Second Executive of YSWN LSO:
- Chapter Executive President: Mats’eliso Mokitimi
- Chapter Executive Vice-President: Mats’eliso Seleteng
- Chapter Executive Secretary: Tanki Mahao
- Chapter Executive Head of Research and Development: Puseletso A. Mpeisa
- Chapter Executive Head of Events, Planning and Management: Limpho Ramajoe
- Chapter Executive Head of Finance: Lerato Rakeketsi
- Chapter Executive Head of Media, Marketing and Communications: Amanda Mohasi
This day is anticipated to be historic, graced with ceremonial splendor, pride, and promise for the Social Work profession in the Kingdom of Lesotho. The incoming YSWN LSO Executive is entrusted with the solemn duty to provide leadership rooted in the principles, values, and ethics of the Social Work profession, and to ensure a profound and lasting impact upon communities and society at large
