What is the social worker code of ethics South Africa? They seek to promote integrity in the science, teaching and practice of the profession. In these activities social workers are honest, fair and respectful of others. Social workers strive to be aware of their own belief systems, values, needs and limitations as well as the effect they have on their work.

The Protection of Personal Information Act is a piece of legislation which governs the law of data protection and privacy in South Africa.

All members of the Network must have a social work qualification degree, and a registration with the SACSSP in (SA). For Social Workers in SADC, a social work degree shall be enough as most countries in SADC do not have licensing bodies.

Section 110(1) of the Children's Amendment Act[13] stipulates that suspected child abuse must be reported to child protection organisations, the provincial department of social development or the police. A child protection organisation is defined in the Act as 'any welfare organization designated in terms of section 107, to render child protection services'.
