It is an honour to welcome you to this special edition of our magazine, a reflection of the journey we have shared over the past two years. As the Editor-in-Chief of the Young Social Workers Network (YSWN), I am filled with pride as I look back at our collective achievements and the stories that have shaped our global community and the SADC region.
This issue encapsulates the essence of what we stand for: resilience, inclusivity, and the relentless pursuit of meaningful impact. From our beginnings at the University of the Free State to the global collaborations that now define our work, YSWN has grown into a dynamic platform where diverse voices converge to advance the profession of social work.
As we approach the close of the year, we find ourselves in a season of important global and regional commemorations. December marks World AIDS Day, a time to reflect on progress in the fight against HIV/AIDS and recommit to addressing the challenges that remain. This is also the period of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a powerful campaign that calls for collective action to protect the rights and dignity of women and children. I am thrilled to share that these critical themes are thoughtfully captured in the articles within this edition.
To our international and regional readers, your trust and participation have been the cornerstone of our success. This magazine and our website have been designed with you in mind, ensuring that we consistently provide content that resonates with your diverse experiences and needs.
